Kolo School League

Learn. Compete.
Be seen.

A learning-and-competition platform built for Liberian students, teachers and schools. Every week, students answer, learn from every question, and climb the rankings for their school and their county — then schools compete, from the classroom to a national final.

Who it is for

Kolo School League is built around three people: the student who wants to grow, the teacher who wants a tool, and the school that wants to be seen.

For students

Learn, not just rank

Answer a weekly quiz, see the correct answer and why it is correct, and build real knowledge across subjects. Earn badges, climb your school and county rankings, and collect verified achievements you keep.

For teachers

A classroom tool

Printable weekly quizzes and answer keys, discussion questions, Liberian history and civics resources, and simple progress reports — with low-data versions for schools on weak internet.

For schools

Be on the map

A public school page with your teams, results and student achievements. Compete against other schools from your district to a national final, and give alumni and community a reason to follow along.

What's inside

We are building the League in stages, starting with the weekly quiz. Each piece is designed to teach first and reward second.

01

Weekly school quiz

A new quiz every week across maths, science, English, Liberian and African history, civics, current affairs, technology and agriculture.

  • Score, correction and an explanation for every answer
  • Weekly, school and county rankings
  • Badges and a season participation certificate
First in the pilot
02

Inter-school championship

Official school teams compete in stages: school qualification, district, county, and a national final.

  • Fixtures, results and tables published on Kolo
  • School profiles and highlights
  • A livestreamed championship final
Coming after the pilot
03

Student challenges

Beyond quizzing: monthly challenges in essay and poetry, debate, spelling, science invention, coding, agriculture, storytelling and the arts.

  • Each challenge explores a real Liberian issue
  • Teacher-approved, human-reviewed entries
  • Recognition and certificates, not likes

Built safely for young people

A platform for students carries a duty of care. Kolo School League is a separate youth programme, not part of the adult Kolo Compete (which stays 18 and over).

How we protect students:
  • Schools authorise participation; students join through their school, not on their own
  • Parent or guardian consent where appropriate
  • A written child-safeguarding policy
  • We collect the least student information needed to run the League
  • No public phone numbers or personal contact details for students
  • No student-to-student private messaging
  • Teacher or school coordinator accounts manage each team
  • Every submission is reviewed by a person before it appears
  • Media consent before any student photo or video is published
  • A clear way to report a problem and have content removed

Starting with a pilot

We are not launching a national league overnight. We start small, prove it works, listen to teachers and students, then grow.

1

A few schools, one county

Around 5–10 schools, grades 7–12, in a single county to begin.

2

One weekly quiz

Four academic subjects plus Liberian history, every week, with explanations.

3

An eight-week season

A public school leaderboard, certificates, and an in-person or livestreamed final.

4

Then we grow

We add challenges, more counties and the championship once the quiz works.

The League is being built now. We are registering interested schools and teachers for the first pilot. Registering does not commit your school to anything, and Kolo will never ask a school, teacher, parent or student for money to take part.

Bring your school in

Register your interest now and we will contact you when the pilot opens in your area.
