Copyright Policy

How to report infringement on Kolo, and what we do about it.

v1.0 | Republic of Liberia

Kolo respects intellectual property and expects users to do the same. This Copyright Policy explains how rights holders can report infringing content on the Service and how Kolo handles those reports. It is modelled on international notice-and-takedown standards and adapted to Liberian law.

1. What infringement looks like on Kolo

Re-uploads of another artist's recordings, films, books, or photos without permission.

Samples, remixes, or derivative works that use protected material without a license or fair-use basis.

Use of someone else's name, image, likeness, or trademark in a profile, content, or marketing.

2. Filing a notice

If you are the rights holder (or authorized to act on the rights holder's behalf), send a written notice to support@kolo1847.com with the following:

Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.

Identification of the work you claim has been infringed.

Identification of the material on Kolo you claim is infringing: the URL or, at minimum, the artist name and track/title.

A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.

A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them.

Your physical or electronic signature.

Incomplete notices may delay or prevent action.

3. What happens after a notice

We review the notice, typically within five (5) business days.

If the notice appears valid, we remove or disable access to the material and notify the uploader.

We log the takedown against the uploader's account. Repeat infringers are banned.

We may suspend payouts associated with the infringing content while the matter is open.

4. Counter notices

If you believe your content was removed in error, send a counter notice to support@kolo1847.com that includes:

Your name, address, telephone number, and email.

Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared.

A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.

A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Liberia (or, at your option, the jurisdiction of the rights holder if outside Liberia).

Your physical or electronic signature.

If the counter notice is complete and we do not receive notice that the rights holder has filed suit within fourteen (14) business days, we will generally restore the material.

5. Audio fingerprinting and proactive protection

Every audio upload runs through Kolo's audio fingerprint database. Files that match registered artist content are routed to human review before they go live. Original artists may register their content for proactive protection by writing to support@kolo1847.com.

6. Repeat infringer policy

Accounts that receive three (3) substantiated infringement notices in any twelve (12)-month period are subject to permanent termination. Withdrawal of pending payouts may be held pending resolution.
